Allan Maxted has been promoted to the board of directors at Spar UK.

Maxted has been head of fresh and frozen at the symbol group since 2008 and takes on his new role of director with immediate effect.

He has previously held buyer roles at Marks & Spencer and Tesco.

“Allan is a passionate commercial manager and an integral part of the team,” said Spar UK MD Debbie Robinson.
