Spar has announced it is bringing back Shop & Win after unprecedented industry success.
Shop & Win first ran for six weeks in August last year and gave customers the chance to win daily prizes including cash rewards, mobile top-ups and fashion vouchers. In January this year, Spar capitalised on the success and ran the campaign again with the addition of a virtual scratch card game on customer’s mobile phones.
Customer reaction exceeded expectations with 300,000 entries and 40,000 mobile vouchers redeemed in store. To date, Spar said the promotion had driven incremental sales by over £750,000 and had an 80% in-store compliance rate.
This September, Spar are bringing back the popular promotion and adding a brand new Vauxhall VIVA as the grand prize.
Also featuring in the updated campaign is the chance to collect Spar Digital Stamps allowing customers to claim additional rewards for loyalty while taking part in the promotion.
“The Shop & Win campaign has not only allowed SPAR to increase basket spend and encourage a younger consumer to start shopping with SPAR, but has also been widely supported by our independent retail estate,” said senior marketing manager for Spar UK Andy Burt.
“We’ve achieved this by going beyond traditional retailer-led shopper marketing techniques, to engage our tech-savvy target market with frequency-driving mobile vouchers that can be instantly redeemed at participating stores,”
“This was all achieved without the need to invest in the costly deployment of new hardware into store.”
To support and promote the latest instalment in the Shop & Win campaign, Spar is supporting the offer with a suite of in-store POS and social media support. Rewards will be given to retailers for in-store implementation and redemption rates.
