Northern Irish Spar wholesaler Henderson Group has unveiled the first new shop to emerge from Spar's Stores of the Future initiative.
The 4,600 sq ft forecourt site in Lurgan features Spar's latest thinking on what busy shoppers on the move need from a local store.
Launched in April this year, the Stores of the Future programme aims to develop a new store every year based around its seven key store formats.
The Lurgan store is modelled on a format called In Transit and incorporates a seated food court operated by Subway and Irish fast food provider Supermacs.
Henderson retail operations director Mark McCammond said the store combined spacious design with what he called a "mission-based" layout.
"We've a great range of locally produced products and food-to-go that caters for our customer profile across all times of the day," he said.
The next store to be developed under Stores of the Future will open in Scotland early next year.
