Spar retailers Chris and Sue Sharrinton are retiring after 37 years in the business.

The couple have sold their award-winning Spar in Helston, Cornwall, to Top 50 indie Gillett’s, which “has a fine reputation for running Spar stores throughout the region”, said Chris Sharrinton.

Gillett’s MD Mark Gillett added: “Helston, with nearly 3,000 sq ft of sales space, is one of the best-run and largest Spar stores in the South West.”
