Spar is launching a new range of own-label coffee capsules as it looks to tap the nation’s growing love of premium instant coffee.
The retailer will launch a Nespresso-compatible capsule range comprising Lungo, Intensivo and Ristretto varieties early next year, in packs of 10 at an rsp of £2.00. The own-label offering currently comes in 90p cheaper than the similar 10-pack of Intensivo capsules on the official brand Nespresso website.
Alongside the capsules, Spar is also releasing two coffee sachets, Cappucino and Latte Macchiato, at an rsp of £1.50 for packs of 12.
“Spar brand has a fantastic opportunity to grow sales up to £1m in the own-label beverages category, and the launches of these great quality capsules and NPD are a fantastic way of doing this,” said Spar UK brand director Susan Darbyshire.
Both the new coffee lines will be available in Spar stores in January.
