Spar has started revamping its contactless payment systems.

The upgraded PoS is currently in 700 stores and rolls out to another 300 in the next few months.

“We recognised that our electronic funds transfer system needed to be more secure, efficient and dynamic,” said Spar IT controller Roy Ford.

The rollout was handled by Business Computer Projects, which supplies software solutions to retailers including Morrisons and Nisa.
