Spar is launching a new range of winter warmer chilled products and redesigning 21 existing own-brand lines, as it looks to offer consumers a complete ready-to-cook meal range over the winter season.
The retailer is giving 21 dishes a makeover and adding two new prepared chicken lines to the range: Chicken Wrapped in Bacon, and Hunter’s Chicken, both price-marked at £3.50.
The product packaging across the winter warmers range, which is worth around £2.5m annually to the business, will be redesigned with a block colour design, which Spar says will help it fit alongside its own-brand Italian range.
“We know that customers who buy their evening meals spend twice as much in Spar stores, so these new launches offer retailers a great opportunity to boost sales this winter,” said Spar UK brand director Susan Darbyshire.
“Ongoing two-for-one promotions and price-marking is used across much of the range and some classic dishes will feature in Spar’s national media campaign in November, helping increase consumer awareness and demand,” she added.
The new range will be available to retailers from 10 October and will be supported by in-store POS.
Spar is set to launch a national ad campaign in November, the first time the retailer has appeared on TV in four years.
