Speakeasy Ice Creams has expanded its portfolio of boozy ice cream with a range based on after-dinner drinks.
Working with Italian liqueur maker Lazzaroni, Speakeasy has added Amaretto (1.2% abv) with “a soft and sweet balance” and Limoncello (1.1% abv), which offers a “sherbet sensation”. A third new variant, Coffee Liqueur (1.1% abv), is made with cold brew coffee liqueur from Dorset craft spirit maker Conker – a tipple that is “smooth and dark, with natural vanillas and caramels”.
The Speakeasy brand “was created with the purpose of working with the top craft spirit and liqueur producers” said co-founder Jane Woodhead. “We’re excited to see this vision further coming to life with our new offerings.”

The startup’s latest ice creams will be available initially for foodservice, with a wholesale price of £26 plus VAT (£31.20) for a four-litre tub. They are likely to be available for grocery from the autumn.
“When developing new flavours, we always have foodservice and hospitality in mind,” Woodhead added. “The recipe formulation of the ice cream itself has focuses not only on its luxuriously creamy texture, but also how it stands up in a commercial setting.”
Speakeasy’s earlier variants – Ramos Gin, Spiced Rum and Cherry Brandy – made their retail debut in November via a listing with Ocado. The threesome is made in association with Ableforth’s, a craft distiller from Kent.
