Kellogg is keeping up its rolling development programme behind its Special K brand with a double launch to add to the rapidly expanding portfolio.
The cereals maker is adding a Special K Yoghurty variant to its boxed offerings and another newcomer to its burgeoning range of bars.
Yoghurty is the fourth cereal to join the Special K family and is a combination of the core ingredient with the addition of Yoghurty flakes.
It joins the original Special K, Red Berries and Peach & Apricot variants.
The new addition to the £12m Special K Bar portfolio is an Apple & Pear variant.
Both launches mark the latest stage in the development of a brand which is becoming a sure fire winner for Kellogg.
The Grocer revealed two months ago that the company was throwing Special K into the bagged snacks arena for the first time with the launch of Lite Bites, crispy corn lattices in cheese, tikka and sundried tomato and basil flavours.
Kellogg has also enjoyed considerable sales success with the original Special K boxed offering in recent times, with The Grocer’s last Top Products Survey (December 13 2003) showing that it was one of only two top 10 cereal brands to post a double digit percentage sales rise last year.
The survey also showed how the Special K Bars had been a top performer for Kellogg.
