Sainsbury will introduce Brussels sprouts to its Taste The Difference premium range for the first time this Christmas.
The retailer said the sprouts had a distinctive nutty flavour and a natural sweetness that would make them popular even with children.
The sprouts, nicknamed ‘supersweet’ by Sainsbury, are grown in Bedfordshire and have been developed over the past 10 years.
They can be harvested from November in a season that will run until March next year, the retailer said.
