Adult soft drinks brand Square Root has teamed up with craft brewery Cloudwater for a new limited-edition soda.
The collaborative Grapefruit Hopped Iced Tea soda is touted as combining Square Root’s “love of season fruits” with the brewer’s hop expertise, and was created at Square Root’s London facility.
Made with simcoe and amarillo hops along with syrup and zest from Sicilian pink grapefruits, it was “a pithy and juicy bottle of pop with subtle herbaceous notes”, said the brand.
“The pink grapefruits used in this limited-edition soda are sourced by our trusted growers at Laudani Farms in Sicily,” said Square Root founder Robyn Simms.
“The soil found there creates the perfect, fertile growing conditions for juicy and sweet citrus fruits.”
Cloudwater brand ambassador Anja Madhvani added: “Square Root’s approach to sourcing seasonal ingredients and their mindful attitude toward alcohol speaks to the values we hold at Cloudwater.”
As well as beers, Cloudwater also makes its own range of alcohol-free sodas.
The Grapefruit Hopped Ice Tea has launched online through Square Root’s web store (rsp: £2/250ml).
Willam Reed – the publisher of The Grocer – has launched an exhibition exclusively for the low and non-alcoholic drinks sector. For more information visit low2nobev.com
