Stella Artois has joined the growing ranks of beer brands available in a one litre bottle format.
Interbrew UK added the pack variant to the growing number of skus for its premium lager to build the link between beer and food.
Sales director Steve Kitching said: "47% of take home lager drinking occasions are with food but no beer pack had been designed with this link in mind.
"We want to develop the right pack format for every occasion. Every new one we have introduced has increased the sales of the brand."
The brewer said the pack will benefit from secondary siting and recommended positioning with premium chilled meals to establish a clear point of difference. It will be available from the end of July, subject to listings, retailing at £2.99.
