Steve Chantry is the new UK marketing director for Birds Eye.
Chantry will take up the role in August, replacing Margaret Jobling who is leaving after three and a half years to become head of brand marketing at British Gas.
He will join Birds Eye from Mondelez, where is currently category head of marketing – core chocolate & Cadbury – in Australia. He has also held marketing roles at Reckitt Benckiser and Cadbury.
“I am delighted to welcome Steve to Birds Eye and look forward to working with him to deliver our ambition for the frozen category,” said Birds Eye UK and Ireland MD Andy Weston-Webb.
“Steve brings a passion for consumer branding and an excellent track record of innovation earned at two of the world’s finest fmcg businesses, making him perfectly equipped to play a big part in our growth journey.”
Chantry, who will relocate from Australia, arrives at Birds Eye as the company continues its rebrand after the launch of its ‘Food of Life’ campaign earlier this year. That campaign saw it axe Clarence the polar bear to focus on “conversations about food and the role of food in people’s lives”.
