Del Monte is the latest soft drinks brand to use natural sweetener stevia in its NPD.
With less than half the calories of standard juice drinks, the Naturally Light range - in mango & papaya, pineapple & lime and superfruits ambient flavours - will be stocked in Tesco and Sainsbury’s from this month.
A 250ml serving contained 53 kcal, compared with 145 kcal for the standard mango & papaya. The range is set to carry the same £1.59 rsp as other one-litre Del Monte drinks and is set to be extended next year with new flavours and 250ml cartons.
Also available this month, from Ocado, is a range of stevia-based carbonated soft drinks under the Zevia brand.
