Asda beers, wine and spirits director Dave Stewart has been promoted to general manager BWS at the retailer. Stewart started in the department in May, joining from the electronics where he was general manager. He takes over from Oliver Haughton, who has moved on to take up the role of category director, core grocery. Stewart joined Asda three years ago from communications specialist the Caudwell Group and was in charge of the restructure of the retailer's electronics department. He also oversaw the roll-out of the D5 concept, where a separate area for gaming, music, entertainment and electronic equipment was created in lager stores.
