Plant-based frozen foods brand Strong Roots has launched a dedicated air fryer range.
Air Bites (rsp: £2.95/300g) are “veg-packed bites”, available in Crispy Spinach & Carrot, Crispy Pea & Lemon and Crispy Veg.
Crispy Spinach & Carrot bites contain 48% spinach with a crispy carrot crumb.
Meanwhile, Crispy Pea & Lemon bites contain 58% peas with lemon, encased in a crispy carrot and beetroot crumb.
Finally, Crispy Veg bites contain a vegetable and brown rice filling with a puffed quinoa crumb.
All three variants are vegan with no artificial colours or flavours.
Billed as a snack or quick lunch option, they are ready from frozen in 10-12 minutes.
They will roll into the traditional big four supermarkets, along with Waitrose and Whole Foods Market next week.
“With the air fryer revolution continuing at pace, along with the demand for healthy, plant-based options, we have worked hard to create delicious, veg-forward recipes that are optimised for the air fryer,” said Strong Roots marketing VP Laura Smith.
“We believe there is an exciting opportunity to reach new consumers, bring even more people into the frozen, meat-free category and widen usage occasions and we can’t wait to hear what our customers think.”
It comes after Strong Roots owner McCain Foods launched a dedicated Air Fryer range under its category-leading oven chip brand in May.
