The best French wine launch in the UK this year is French Revolution, a red and white pair from Paul Boutinot Agencies.
It won the top prize at the French Wine Awards for Excellence.
This is the inaugural competition run by French wine trade body Onivins and is part of a new generic campaign introduced this year.
It was launched to the trade at the London International Wine Trade Fair and to consumers as the French Wines Experience at the Festival of Fine Wine and Food.
Paul Boutinot md Deborah Brooks said: "The French wine market is confusing for consumers, offering few recognisable brands.
"As its name suggest French Revolution aims to shake up the sector by offering an identifiable product with stylish packaging, which is consistently good quality and and at £4.99 good value."
The wines are the brainchild of winemaker Paul Boutinot who has spent 20 years advocating the benefits of traditional methods.
The red is a blend of Grenache and Syrah picked from old vines on the higher slopes of Mont Ventous in the Rhône Valley.
The white is Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc from Montlouis on the south bank of the Loire.
