Walkers has added a Sun Ripened Sweet Chilli flavour to its healthy SunBites range to tap into growing consumer enthusiasm for healthy crisps.
The company said the new flavour, out shortly, scored higher than other flavours in consumer trials - even higher than the top-selling Sour Cream and Cracked Black Pepper flavours.
Walkers is combining the launch with a new on-pack promotion called Little Rays of Sunshine, which will offer consumers the chance to win a range of holiday prizes.
Ian Ellington, Walkers vice president of marketing, expected the new flavour and promotion to build on the 60% of incremental sales that SunBites had added to the better-for-you category [TNS] over the past year.
Walkers SunBites is available in six-pack formats (rsp: £1.38) and single packs, rsp 41p.
