Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I has appointed Nicola Pegg as its research & development director.
Pegg has worked for the fmcg giant for more than 20 years, having started her career as a product scientist, and most recently held the post of transformation director.
In her new role she would “play a pivotal role in driving forward new product developments, aligning to wider European and global ambitions of the company, while ensuring the business continues to deliver on its sustainability goals”, said Suntory.
It was a “fantastic opportunity to push the R&D department’s output and deliver an even greater contribution to our bottom line”, said Pegg. “Innovation is key to the development of our brands and helping us achieve our ambitious sustainability targets.”
News of Pegg’s appointment comes as Lucozade Sport this week updated its packaging, rolling out a new reduced plastic sleeve it claims will prevent 101 tonnes of virgin plastic being produced every year.
The packs are designed to allow bottles to be more easily identified and sent to the correct waste stream, the brand claimed. Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I plans to make all of its plastic packaging sustainable by 2030.
