A French brewer that pulled a selection of its beers last month over fears they could contain glass has extended the recall.
Following earlier warnings that a number of products from Brasserie de Saint-Omer could contain pieces of glass, the range of beers and batches being recalled has been extended. The new recall includes both own-label and Brasserie de Saint-Omer branded products stocked by Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Aldi and Co-op.
Consumers are being warned not to drink any of the beers, and can return them for a full refund. The latest problems with Brasserie de Saint-Omer products follow two similar recall notices issued in September.
The new list of products affected, which have best before dates up to 30 November 2013, includes: Tesco Bière d’Or 10x25cl, Sainsbury’s St. Cervois Premium Lager 8x25cl, Sainsbury’s Bière des Flandres 10x25cl and 18x25cl, Sainsbury’s Bière des Moulins Continental Lager 30x25cl, Asda Bière de Luxe 10x250ml, Asda French Lager 10x250ml, Brasserie de Saint-Omer Shandy 10x250ml, Aldi Brasserie Bière Blonde Lager 8x25cl, Aldi Brasserie French Lager 10x25c, Co-op French Premium Lager 8x250ml and 18x250ml, Brasserie de Saint-Omer Export 8x25cl and 18x25cl, Brasserie de Saint-Omer Panaché 10x25cl, Bière Continentale 10x25cl, and Brasserie de Saint-Omer Lite, 24x25cl.
The Food Standards Agency said the affected products were being recalled “on a precautionary basis” by the retailers “as they may contain small pieces of glass due to a manufacturing fault.”
