Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are set to reduce their fuel prices by 2ppl following a drop in oil prices.
Asda said drivers would pay no more than 117.7ppl on unleaded and 121.7ppl on diesel across the country from tomorrow (29 November), adding that the cut was the seventh in two months.
“Asda continues to lead the way on petrol price cuts as we know how important it is to pass savings back into motorists’ pockets as soon as oil prices fall,” said Asda’s petrol trading director Andy Peake.
“No matter where customers live, they will benefit from the same fuel price with our national price cap of 117.7ppl for unleaded and 121.7ppl for diesel.”
Sainsbury’s also confirmed the price of petrol and diesel would fall by up to 2p at its 297 forecourts tomorrow.
“This is another way in which we can offer our customers real value for money in the run up to Christmas, which can often be an expensive time of year,” said Sainsbury’s head of fule Avishai Moor.
Tesco, meanwhile, lowered its fuel prices by 2p this afternoon (28 November) at all of its 500 forecourts.
“As Britain’s biggest fuel retailer this means more motorists can make real savings, something we know is especially important in the run up to Christmas,” said Tesco fuel director Peter Cattell.
“We also offer Clubcard points and savings through Clubcard Fuel Save, which saves our customers up to 20 pence per litre – customers have until Sunday to spend their fuel savings from October.”
