The first sushi sandwich to go on sale outside Japan is being showcased at Sainsbury this week as the chain develops its partnership with restaurant chain Yo! Sushi.
The sushi sandwiches' will come in packs of two or three, featuring rice instead of bread and a seaweed wrap. Prices range from £2.60 to £3.00.
Yo! Sushi founder Simon Woodrow said the sandwiches were "far more user friendly" than traditional sushi.
The packs come in four flavours salmon and green pickled veg; masago, shibuzake and spring onion; teriyaki chicken and spinach and a beginner pack' of egg mayonnaise and celery; smoked salmon and cream cheese, and tuna, sweetcorn and watercress.
