Londis has opened its first c-store with an integral pharmacy.
The store, at Northolt, Middlesex, is owned by pharmacist Suki Rai who, earlier this year, bought a Londis store two doors down from the chemist shop he had run for 15 years. Six months later he amalgamated the two within the larger Londis store with an £80,000 refit.
The pharmacy and convenience segments each take up half of the 1,500sq ft and complement each other well according to Rai.
He said: "While customers wait for a prescription they go round the store for top up shopping. And they often come in for groceries and pick up a pack of paracetamol."
