Individual stores will be able to get online as part of the all- new Costcutter web site, revealed at the company's annual exhibition.
The relaunch will allow small stores to have their own web presence as part of the main Costcutter site. The web site is divided into three distinct sections or phases with the first phase including a store locator with a difference.
Marketing manager Ian Bishop said: "The store locator will become a facility for individual stores to have their own web presence as part of the main site, enabling promotions and notices to be drilled home at local level."
The site offers stores the opportunity to have three pages, one offering statistics, photography and a map to find the store, another dedicated to promotions and e-coupons, and the third acting as a notice board.
Phase two of the web site is a corporate area providing information on the company, while phase three is described as "retailer heaven" by Bishop.
"The emphasis here is firmly placed on helping the retailer on a day-to-day basis. Contained within will be the facility to print customised PoS material, category planograms and an online store for specific deals exclusive to the net."
Phase one is set to go live in mid June with phases two and three introduced over the coming months.
- The University of York has become the latest university to have a Costcutter supermarket on campus. Building work has started on the 4,100 sq ft supermarket and a smaller 640 sq ft convenience store.
