Symington’s, the branded convenience supplier, has made two senior appointments to its commercial team.
Kevin Butterworth is to join as director of marketing, while Kirsty Cooper will fill the newly created role of head of market, strategy & planning.
Butterworth is currently marketing & international sales director at Seabrook’s, where he has spent the past five years in a variety of positions.
Previously, he worked at Kellogg’s and Reckitt Benckiser. He is set to start at Symington’s on 1 October, and will be responsible for designing and implementing a brand strategy that will allow its brands to continue to deliver growth
He will be preceded on 1 September by Cooper – who will join the Mug Shot maker from Capri-Sun where she is sales & marketing director.
She joined the brand in June 2014 after stints at Britvic, Coca-Cola and Red Bull in a variety of commercial roles. Her responsibilities at Symington’s will include driving category strategies.
Butterworth and Cooper will report directly to Matt Lee, chief commercial officer, who was “delighted to welcome such established talent to our business”.
The pair had “a proven track record in the delivery of both category and branded growth” he added. “With these appointments, we now have a complete team, which is quite possibly the strongest I’ve ever worked with.”
