Tabasco has partnered with Iceland to launch a duo of spicy frozen chicken products.
The products – Chicken Burgers and Chicken Fillet Strips – rolled into Iceland and Food Warehouse stores earlier this month (rsp: £2.50-£3.50/2x150g-500g).
Both were finished in a “crunchy, spicy coating bursting with the distinctive flavour of Original Tabasco Pepper Sauce”.
The innovations – which represent the hot sauce supplier’s first tie-up with a UK retailer – have launched via the ‘Exclusive to Iceland’ initiative.
They were developed in conjunction with Creative Foods, Tabasco’s exclusive distribution partner in UK foodservice and manufacturing.
Iceland senior buyer Sam Robbins-Wells said it had been “really exciting collaborating with both Tabasco and Creative Foods in bringing these high-quality products to Iceland customers”.
The team were “very proud of these products” and hoped customers liked them “as much as we do”, Robbins-Wells added.
This certainly isn’t Iceland’s first big brand tie-up. Over recent years, the frozen foods giant has teamed up with other fmcg brands – such as Cathedral City and Barratt – and casual dining chains such Harry Ramsden’s and Yo Sushi, to launch exclusive products into its stores.
