Makro has signed up 1,500 new takeaway operators following the launch of its Every Day Takeaway campaign two months ago.
Makro said sales from existing takeaway customers had risen 20% following the push, which included new everyday products for takeaways and a chip fat oil recycling scheme.
Commercial director Allard Sjollema said the push had let Makro discuss "everything from our product offering and range of services to what they were looking for in terms of value and price" with its takeaway customers.
