Lindsay Talas, Tesco’s product development manager for beers, wines & spirits, is to join Romsey-based wine agency Thierry’s as deputy buying director.
Talas will be charged with boosting sales of brands such as French Kiss and Hanging Rock Winery in all the top multiples and other retailers.
At Tesco, she was instrumental in establishing and building the Tesco World of Wine Club.
Her appointment follows buying director Dominique Vrigneau’s assumption of additional responsibility as deputy MD. He is seen as MD Peter Darbyshire’s replacement when he retires, and Talas is set to take charge of buying.
Mark Wilson and Claire Sheppard have also been appointed as national account managers. Wilson has joined from rival agency Ehrmann’s, where he was an account manager. Sheppard has been promoted from the post of account executive for Asda.
