Teapigs has unveiled a three-strong range of functional teas to tap growing demand for hot beverages that promote wellbeing.
Available from 1 March, the premium lineup of Feel-Good Teas comprises Clean ‘n’ Green, a detox tea including lemongrass, ginger, coconut and dandelion leaves; Snooze to aid sleep through apple, lavender and chamomile; and Up Beet for energy via a blend of blend of beets, spice and hibiscus.
Each variant comes in a box of 15 biodegradable ‘temple’ bags with an rsp of £3.99.
More and more consumers were looking for drinks with specific health benefits, and demand for green and herbal teas was growing, said Louise Cheadle, Teapigs co-founder and tea taster. “We’ve put together this special range with ingredients that will give consumers specific benefits – and we’ve made sure they taste amazing, too. These are not healthy teas that are consumed while holding your nose.”
Shoppers’ increased preference for functional tea over traditional black variants has helped the 10-year-old Teapigs add 9% to its value sales, reaching £6.1m on volumes up 6.8% [Nielsen 52 w/e 8 October 2016].
