Tesco has appointed its customer strategy and insight director Tracey Clements as managing director for convenience and CEO of its One Stop business, following the announcement of the departure of Tony Reed.
Clements joined Tesco in 2002 and has held positions as both Express store director and leader of the Express Central Team.
She also has served as operations development director and support office director, before her most recent role.
Tesco said Clements would help to develop Tesco’s convenience offer for customers through its network of Metro, Express and One Stop convenience stores.
Reed had been in charge of Tesco’s 2,750-strong convenience store operation for just over a year, following a major company shake-up instigated by CEO Dave Lewis.
His promotion to Retail Director for Convenience resulted in the addition of all Tesco Express and Metro stores to his portfolio.
“I’m delighted to confirm that Tracey Clements has been appointed as the Managing Director for Convenience and CEO of One Stop,” said Tony Hoggett, UK Retail Director at Tesco.
“Her wealth and breadth of experience will support the teams in developing this key part of our business as well as helping us serve our customers a little better every day.”
