Murphy will front a session on the implications of retailer net zero carbon neutral targets for suppliers

Tesco CEO Ken Murphy will deliver the keynote speech on the roadmap to net zero carbon at The Grocer’s sustainability conference later this month.

It is to be Murphy’s first speech since joining Tesco last autumn, when he replaced Dave Lewis, and follows plans announced last November to bring forward Tesco’s net zero target from 2050 to 2035.

Murphy will front a session on the implications of retailer net zero carbon neutral targets for suppliers, one of five webinars to be broadcast on 24 March by The Grocer in its ‘How to Build a Sustainable Brand’ conference.

There will also be a live Q&A discussion after each keynote speech, featuring a number of experts. Conference delegates will be able to post questions in advance and ask them live during the session, as well as networking (virtually) with other delegates.

The Grocer’s conference will also include webinars discussing sustainable shopper trends, how to make closed-loop zero-waste grocery work, and marketing sustainability, as well as exploring sustainable packaging solutions.

Other speakers at the conference will include experts from Asda, Beauty Kitchen, BBIA, Coca-Cola, FDF, Good Club, Hubbub, Jude’s, Loughborough University, Osborne Clarke, Pinterest, Richmond & Towers, Rubies in the Rubble, Sky Ocean Ventures, Streetbees, the Co-op, Tony’s Chocolonely, Unpackaged, VMLY&R and more.

Access to the conference costs £125 but is free to Gold and Platinum members of The Grocer.
