Tesco has launched an exclusive range of refillable multi-surface cleaners to help shoppers cut their carbon footprint and the cost of cleaning.

The Replenish range features a small refill pod attached to the bottom of each spray bottle. Concentrate from the pod is squeezed into the bottle and then diluted with tap water before use. The rsp is £4.99 for the bottle and one refill, while further refills cost £2.99.

Tesco said the range would cut plastic waste by 90% - and that the refills, which make three bottles of liquid, worked out at half the cost of traditional spray cleaners.

Transporting the refill pods rather than full-size bottles could save Tesco around 80,000 kg of carbon over the next year.
