Trading Standards officers have stepped in to curb the scrap between Iceland and Tesco over pricing claims.
Iceland says that officials ordered Tesco to remove posters in its stores which claimed its frozen food was cheaper than Iceland's.
But Tesco says it has no plans to stop highlighting to consumers what it claims are cheaper prices on "several hundred" products.
"The first posters were coming down anyway, and we are in the process of having more printed, with the inclusion of more information about the products involved," said a spokesman.
"Trading Standards did not order us to remove them," he added.
