Tesco has extended its range of Eastern European wines with the addition of a Hungarian Bull’s Blood line.
Talisman Bull’s Blood (12% abv) rolled out across this week nationwide (rsp: £6/75cl).
Despite the heritage in its own country, the wine type - also known as Egri Bikavér in reference to its native region of Eger - had “relatively low awareness” in the UK, Tesco said.
The Talisman brand is produced by Hungarian winery Törley in partnership with distributor Copestick Murray. It had been given a “mystical and stylish” design to attract a wider audience, said Copestick Murray MD Robin Copestick.
