Kenny Jacobs is set to join Tesco Ireland as marketing director.
Jacobs, who is currently customer manager for wholesaler Makro, will join the retailer on 1 May.
At Makro, Jacobs was second in command to managing director Hannes Floto and played an important role in a two-year redevelopment programme to revamp Makro depots with improved fixtures, new signage, extra lines and an increased focus on fresh produce.
He leaves the wholesaler at the end of the month.
Tesco Ireland has been without a marketing director since August last year when Peter Wright left the supermarket chain after eight years to join chocolate specialist Thorntons as marketing director.
Helen Godley had been acting as marketing director until a replacement for Wright was found.
