Tesco has announced it will be offering free kids’ meals to Clubcard holders during the summer holidays to help families struggling with the food inflation crisis.
The scheme will run in all 311 of its cafés from 25 July – 26 August and is available for parents who spent a minimum of 60p on a purchase.
The move is the latest in a string of efforts by supermarkets to help families with other retailers including Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Amazon last week being unveiled as supporting the government’s new cost of living campaign, Help for Households.
In addition to Kids Eat Free, Tesco said it also supported families in the community through its partnership with Fareshare and the Trussell Trust.
“Kids Eat Free is just one of the ways we’re helping our customers to spend less at Tesco,” said Tesco’s chief customer officer Alessandra Bellini.
“We know that costs can add up over the school holidays, so offering free meals to children with any item purchased at our cafés for an adult, is one of the ways we are supporting parents during this time.”
