Tesco has lost a seven-year battle in the Czech republic that could cost up to £50m, according to media reports.
The retailer was ordered to pay £10m this month and is now being chased for damages in a long-running legal dispute over land bought from a local developer in 1997.
Tesco is reported to have withheld some of the payment because planning consent for a superstore was refused.
