Tesco is to launch the first upmarket clothing label by a UK supermarket.
F&F Couture is a 16-strong range of items priced from £40 to £140 and available online.
“This signifies a new era for supermarket fashion,” Tesco clothing boss Terry Green told The Daily Telegraph. “It's a high fashion-led range [that] will enable us to meet the increased desire for affordable yet high-quality clothing.”
He added: “We're so confident the range will be a success that work has already begun on the autumn/winter range.”
Last week it emerged that Green was being replaced as head of Tesco’s clothing business by Richard Jones, who joined Tesco in 2008 after a spell as head of non-food at Sainsbury’s.
