Tesco is to present a cheque for £2.5m to children’s charity Barnardo’s from fundraising through its charity trust.
The money has been raised by some 230,000 Tesco staff, who have been involved in a variety of activities over the past year from curry quiz nights to line dancing.
Tesco marketing director, Tim Mason, said: “Staff have put an enormous amount of energy into raising money for this very worthwhile cause. We’ve been supported by Barnardo’s at every stage - it has been a great partnership and will make a difference to thousands of children.”
