The recall affects six-packs of Finest All Butter Pastry Mince Pies

Tesco has recalled some of its own-label mince pies over fears they may contain pieces of dried glue.

The recall affects six-packs of Finest All Butter Pastry Mince Pies with best before dates of 4 October 2024, 26 October 2024, 2 November 2024 and 10 November 2024.

They may contain small pieces of dry glue from the packaging, making them unsafe to eat.

Tesco has urged shoppers not to eat the product, but instead to return it to any store for a full refund. It has advised consumers to contact its customer service team for more information.

A spokesman for Tesco confirmed it was recalling “a small number” of packs as a “precautionary measure”.

“The quality of our products is our number one priority and we immediately began an investigation with our supplier to understand what happened,” he said.

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”

It comes as a batch of contaminated mustard powder supplied by FGS Ingredients has led to the recall of over 100 food products, spanning ready meals, sandwiches, salads and dips.

This isn’t the first time Tesco has recalled one of its festive lines.

Last year, the supermarket recalled a batch of private-label stuffing mix over fears it may contain moths.
