Tesco is ramping up its online deliveries platform by offering discounts for customers who sign up to new subscription payments.
The retailer claims customers will be able to save up to £100 over the space of six months by signing up to the new Delivery Saver scheme, which launched nationwide today following a limited trial.
Shoppers can pay a one-off charge of £36 to receive unlimited deliveries over a three-month period or a £60 fee for six months’ worth of deliveries.
“We listened to what our customers told us they wanted and Delivery Saver is the result,” said Ken Towle, Tesco’s internet retailing director.
“It’s simple to use and will save money at a difficult time for many families. If you get regular home deliveries it will quickly pay for itself – and the more you use the service, the more you save.”
The nationwide rollout of Delivery Saver follows a trial with Tesco customers in the South West of England that covered 37 stores. With sales of more than £2bn, Tesco sees its home delivery service as a key driver of growth.
