Judges have voted Tesco Fresh Flower Retailer of the Year at the 2002 Retail Industry Awards.
Tesco was up against Sainsbury and Marks and Spencer for the award, which was sponsored by the Flower Council of Holland.
The judging panel complimented the Tesco flower department for its strong year-on-year growth achieved through investments in both fixtures and staff training.
Tesco cut flower buyer Jacky Stephen said: "We are delighted that we have been recognised as the UK's top fresh flowers retailer.
"The retailer of the year award is a credit to all the hard work carried out by the horticulture and marketing teams and staff in our 550 flower-selling branches."
Tesco claims a 28% share of the multiples' cut flower market and 15% of the entire UK cut flower market.
