Cut price computers and peripherals will be available from Tesco after it signed a partnership deal with one of the leading IT manufacturers, Hewlett Packard. The two companies ran a pilot scheme at stores in Leicester and Cambridge and will now be extending it to 124 stores nationwide in an extended trial. Under the deal HP will become Tesco's exclusive IT partner for retailing, and initially will be providing an entry level offer giving customers a multi media internet ready system. HP general manager customer business organisation David Barmby said the initiative was a natural extension of sales strategies in Europe where computers are sold in hypermarkets. Initial offerings will be a Pavilion PC with a 15in monitor at £779, £89.99 for a printer and £69.99 for a scanner. {{NEWS }}
