Tesco has kicked off the new back-to-school season with the launch of its cheapest school uniform yet.

The new Value outfit usually costs £4.50 but is selling at a 20% discount for the first fortnight after launch. It comprises trousers or a skirt £1.75, a polo shirt for 75p and a sweatshirt for £2.

Last year Tesco sold the complete school uniform for £3.75.
