Tesco has become the latest Regent Street store to put on a Christmas display, giving a festive makeover to its local Metro branch.
The Regent Street Tesco Metro unveiled its ‘Scandi-themed’ window display on Saturday, with a six foot-high biscuit house as the centrepiece. The display is intended to highlight Tesco’s recently relaunched Finest range.
“The team and I were so excited to be chosen for the first Tesco Christmas window display,” said Regent Street store manager Robert Folly. “We hope that our customers enjoy it, the biscuit house looks good enough to eat so we may have to keep an eye on keeping the windows and doors intact until the big day!”
A further 11 Metro stores nationwide will be running augmented reality promotions, with shoppers able to use their smartphones to scan and order products online without even entering the stores.
The participating Metro stores are: Newcastle Eldon Square, Bristol Broadmead, Canterbury, Gravesend, Harlow, Peterborough, Kensington High Street, Birmingham Caxton, Manchester, Cardiff and Liverpool.
Tesco said 20% of its online grocery customers bought from mobile devices last Christmas, as it predicetd that figure will stand at 30% this year.
