Tesco’s dominance in the supermarket sector has been confirmed, with latest figures from market research agency TNS echoing previous data.
TNS data revealed yesterday found that Tesco recorded a market share of 30.3% in the three months to end June 19.
In April, figures from ACNielsen’s monthly TradeTrak compiled for The Grocer revealed that Tesco had broken the 30% barrier for the first time with a 30.2% slice of total trade.
The latest TradeTrak will be published in next week’s issue of The Grocer.
Last week Tesco said that like-for-like sales had climbed 8.8% for the 12 weeks to end May 21 and total UK sales were up 11.3%.
