Tesco is expanding its Wine Club Fair programme this September to include a new event in Scotland and a larger event in Manchester.
The retailer is hoping to attract a record 8,000 of its customers to the four events, which also include London and Bristol. Each fair will feature 350 wines, up from 300 in 2007. All six of the wine promotional boards, including Wines of South Africa and Wines of Chile, will be involved
"This is already an exciting time for Tesco Wine Club Fairs," said wine category manager Andrew Carpenter. "With the addition of Edinburgh and the expansion of Manchester, we can offer the Fair experience to a wider audience."
New interactive features such as wine workshops and themed wine walks led by the Tesco wine team are also planned and winemakers will be on hand.
"The fairs are unique in that we can offer consumers the opportunity to develop their knowledge in a relaxed, fun and enjoyable way," said Carpenter.
