Thatchers has jumped on the pink drinks bandwagon with a new canned rosé cider.
Thatchers Rosé (4% abv) is made with red dessert apple varieties such as Pink Lady, Fuji and Gala. It rolled initially into Sainsbury’s this week in 440ml cans, with a 500ml flint bottle poised for launch in December (rsp: £5.50/4x440ml).

They will be sold in recyclable cardboard carry-packs which eliminate the need for plastic rings.
The NPD “gives consumers just what they’re asking for”, said Thatchers MD Martin Thatcher, “a great-tasting, characterful, sweeter, lower abv cider, made to a consistently high quality”.
The launch “continues to demonstrate our total commitment to quality apple cider and cider making expertise”, he added. The apples had been chosen “for their sweetness, aroma and quality”.
The launch comes on the back of a bumper year for Thatchers, which has grown take-home sales by a whopping 28.6% (£16.2m) to £72.8m, on volumes up 28.5% [Nielsen 52 w/e 8 September 2018].
