Consumer’s verdict

Having never developed a taste for beer or lager, I have been drinking cider for quite some time. So I was therefore quite eager to try something other than the standard pub affairs.

I had only seen dispensers like this for wine and found the overall pack inviting. At 7.3% abv, I was worried there might be a little too much kick or that it might leave an overpowering aftertaste. But, instead, the cider is very crisp and sweet.

Overall, I felt it was a very refreshing drink and would certainly be perfect chilled on a warm day.

After putting Westons vintage cider to the test I can definitely say that I would buy it again.

At £10 for three litres, it is more expensive than the ciders I usually drink at home but the quality outweighs any pricing issues.

Buyer’s verdict
Bob Redmile, Wine and spirits buyer, Parfett’s cash and carry

Westons has been making cider in the village of Much Marcle, Herefordshire, since 1880. It is a family business making quality ciders using traditional methods.

This Organic Draught Vintage Cider is a medium dry still cider made from a single vintage and matured in oak vats. The cider is sold in a three litre bag in box and with an abv of 7.3% is sensibly labelled extra strong.

The presentation is good but the taste is even better, an excellent still cider, smooth and clean tasting and very moreish.

It is great chilled on its own or with some extra mature Cheddar.

I’m not sure how this Organic cider will sell in this format but it is an excellent cider and I would certainly recommend it.
