Bamboo products business The Cheeky Panda has hired Tom Mitchell as CFO.
Mitchell formerly worked for fashion e-commerce business Threads Styling, where he was head of finance. Prior to that he worked for Pret a Manger as group reporting manager during the business’ £1.5bn sale to JAB Holding in 2018.
He “demonstrates the exact skills we were looking for in a CFO”, said Cheeky Panda MD Chris Forbes, with “global scale-up experience across multiple channels and products”.
CEO Julie Chen added Mitchell had “the right systems and business process experience for this stage of our growth”.
Mitchell called Cheeky Panda “a fantastic brand that creates exceptional sustainable products”.
“I’m looking forward to assisting the team in their scale-up journey all around the world.”
Mitchell is the latest addition to Cheeky Panda’s senior team over recent months.
June saw it hire David Carter, formerly of The Body Shop and Burberry, as COO. This was followed by the addition of Bulldog Skincare founder Simon Duffy as a board member and non-executive director in July.
The likes of serial fmcg entrepreneur Giles Brook and former BrewDog global marketing director Sophie More are also board members, joining last year.
